To Florus · §1.13

To Florus 1.13

As I have said, I had expressly stated that in my first work I would neither discuss every form of argument for defending inherited sin nor repeat everything that his book contained. I would engage with the points in which he had placed the substance and strength of his doctrine. Any careful reader of both works, however prejudiced, will recognize that I faithfully made that promise. Confident in the integrity of my conscience, I now urge and challenge our enemy: if he thinks I have omitted any argument he advanced which even he judges to have some weight, let him bring it forward and convict me of fear and deceit.
