Your ignorance or shamelessness is therefore exposed: either you do not care to explain what is said, or you cannot. The light of truth itself—which Christ called himself (John 14:6)—has shown that nothing in the apostle Paul’s words agrees with the Manichaeans’ madness, that is, yours. Let us now devote ourselves to explanation. Just as we have shown how Paul cannot be understood, let it also become clear how he should and can be understood.
