The apostle therefore established that it was not written only for Abraham’s sake that faith was reckoned to him as righteousness (Romans 4:23), but also for ours. It is undoubtedly reckoned to us when we believe in God, who raised Jesus Christ from the dead: ‘Who was handed over,’ he says, ‘because of our offenses and rose because of our justification’ (Romans 4:24–25).
