To Florus 2.227
‘Do not present your members as weapons of injustice to sin, but present yourselves to God as people alive from the dead, and your members as weapons of righteousness to God. For sin does not rule over you: you are not under law but under grace’ (Romans 6:13–14). You should, he says, serve God more faithfully because you do so more freely. Sin ruled over you when punishment for guilt hung over you. But after you received the benefits of God’s grace and breathed freely with the weight of your guilt laid down, a free person’s sense of honor should prompt you to show gratitude to your healer.
