Who are you, rushing to destroy fairness under the impulse of Marcion’s frenzy? Who are you, forcing both God’s judgments and his commands under the censorship of your tongue, still slippery from Manichaean mysteries? No one ever attempted this without first rejecting them. Will you dare, with Mani as your authority, to break God’s testament, which reason, fairness, devotion, and truth—as though a line of sacred witnesses—sealed through the prophets writing faithfully? You long ago lost both purity of understanding and the appearance of religion if you think the pronouncement in Ezekiel either offers support for your inherited sin or fails to contain its destruction.
