To Florus 3.83

Taken together, these points require one of two conclusions: either God must be believed to be what the Manichaean advocate of inherited sin invents, or you, together with everyone accepting the doctrine of inherited sin, must be recognized as the kind of person the God we honor opposes. But God cannot be what Mani dreams. He is the good, just, and true God whom all holy Scripture, the whole law, and our faith worship. Consequently, such is your doctrine that, just as it is accepted by dishonoring God, it is destroyed by honoring him.
