[Marital chastity] is indignant that some have committed what is forbidden, and marvels that others have renounced even what is permitted. Assigned the territory at the furthest boundary, it condemns the savagery of those who rush beyond it and reveres the radiance of those who shine above it. With modest hands it both tends those burning with desire and praises those who do not need such a remedy.
