Finishing the work: from the Samaritan beginning toward the cross
Finishing the Father’s work points to the whole economy — of which this talk with the Samaritan woman and the calling of those from the city who believed are a part.
That finishing reaches as far as “It is finished” on the cross.

Τὸ δὲ τελειῶσαι τὸ ἔργον τοῦ πατρὸς ἐπὶ τὴν ὅλην οἰκονομίαν ἀναφέρεται, ἧς μέρος καὶ ἡ πρὸς τὴν Σαμαρεῖτιν ὁμιλία καὶ ἡ τῶν ἐκ τῆς πόλεως πιστευσάντων κλῆσις.
μέχρι γὰρ τοῦ· Τετέλεσται· ἐπὶ τοῦ σταυροῦ φθάνει τὸ τελειῶσαι τὸ ἔργον.
