Further on the second sign and Capernaum
Further on “This again was the second sign Jesus did”: when the official is rebuked as one who would not believe without seeing marvels, it is not said only “unless you see signs,” but “Unless you see signs and wonders, you will not believe.”
You believe because of the marvel; we, beyond that, also because of what the sign is of — as we perform it.

Ἔτι πρὸς τό· Τοῦτο δὲ πάλιν δεύτερον σημεῖον ἐποίησεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς· ὅτε δὲ ὁ βασιλικὸς ὀνειδίζεται ὡς οὐχ ἂν πιστεύσων χωρὶς τῆς θέας τῶν παραδόξων, οὐκέτι λέγεται μόνον Ἐὰν μὴ σημεῖα ἴδητε, ἀλλὰ Ἐὰν μὴ σημεῖα καὶ τέρατα ἴδητε.
Ὑμῶν μὲν πιστευόντων διὰ τὸ παράδοξον, ἡμῶν δὲ πρὸς τούτῳ καὶ διὰ τὸ οὗ ἐστι σημεῖον ἐπιτελούντων αὐτό.
