He does not stand in the truth

“And he does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks the lie, he speaks from his own, for he is a liar and the father of it.”

The lie is the devil’s own. Christ is the truth, and whoever is of the truth hears his voice.

Καὶ ἐν τῇ ἀληθείᾳ οὐκ ἔστηκεν, ὅτι οὐκ ἔστιν ἀλήθεια ἐν αὐτῷ. ὅταν λαλῇ τὸ ψεῦδος, ἐκ τῶν ἰδίων λαλεῖ, ὅτι ψεύστης ἐστὶν καὶ ὁ πατὴρ αὐτοῦ.

Ἴδιον τοῦ διαβόλου τὸ ψεῦδος· ὁ δὲ Χριστὸς ἡ ἀλήθειά ἐστιν, καὶ ὁ ὢν ἐκ τῆς ἀληθείας ἀκούει αὐτοῦ τῆς φωνῆς.
