The one of God hears God’s words

“The one who is of God hears the words of God; for this reason you do not hear, because you are not of God.”

The criterion of being of God is hearing God’s words; those who do not hear convict themselves.

Ὁ ὢν ἐκ τοῦ θεοῦ τὰ ῥήματα τοῦ θεοῦ ἀκούει· διὰ τοῦτο ὑμεῖς οὐκ ἀκούετε, ὅτι ἐκ τοῦ θεοῦ οὐκ ἐστέ.

Κριτήριον τοῦ ἐκ θεοῦ εἶναι τὸ ἀκούειν τὰ ῥήματα τοῦ θεοῦ· οἱ μὴ ἀκούοντες ἑαυτοὺς ἐξελέγχουσιν.
