Those who cannot contain the word
Those addressed seem not to contain the word, which cannot enter them because of vice.
As narrow vessels do not contain much wine, so a soul filled with desires does not contain the word.

Ἔοικεν δὲ οὗτοι, πρὸς οὓς ὁ λόγος, μὴ χωρεῖν τὸν λόγον, οὐ δυνάμενον εἰς αὐτοὺς εἰσελθεῖν διὰ τὴν κακίαν.
ὥσπερ γὰρ ἀγγεῖα στενόχωρα οὐ χωρεῖ πολὺν οἶνον, οὕτως ψυχὴ πεπληρωμένη ἐπιθυμιῶν οὐ χωρεῖ τὸν λόγον.
