Homilies on Leviticus, Homilia II · §3

Sin of the congregation and of the soul

If the whole assembly errs, they bring a bull; one soul brings a goat or sheep. The grade of sin matches the grade of victim. Christ dies for the people and for each.

Latin

Si tota synagoga erraverit, vitulum offerunt. Anima una — capram vel ovem. Gradus peccati gradus hostiae. Christus pro populo et pro singulis.
