Second prophecy begun§1

1We take up Balaam’s second prophecy. Balak is stunned to hear blessings instead of curses.

Latin · §1

Secundae prophetiae Balaam initium sumimus. Balac attonitus benedictiones pro maledictionibus audit.

God is not a man that he should lie§2

2God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change. He has spoken, and he will do.

Latin · §2

Non est Deus ut homo ut mentiatur, nec ut filius hominis ut mutetur. Dixit et faciet.

Blessing that cannot be reversed§3

3He has blessed, and I will not reverse it. No spell against Jacob; the Lord his God is with him. Glory to Christ forever. Amen.

Latin · §3

Benedixit et non avertam. Non est contra in Iacob; Dominus Deus eius cum eo. Gloria Christo in saecula. Amen.
