Caveat — Liber III/IV MSS and spiritual reading
Caveat: Baehrens notes that most manuscripts do not separate the Fourth Book from the Third; the edition inserts [LIBER QUARTUS] at Arise, come. Let us warn the reader that the nuptial words are to be understood spiritually of the Word and the soul, or of Christ and the church, lest the letter cause scandal.
