Raising David’s fallen tent: body of Christ
Therefore the prophet says again: ‘In that day I will raise up the tent of David that has fallen’ (Amos 9:11; Acts 15:16) — that is, the body of Christ, which draws its origin from David, as we said above. This is clearly to declare that after his death Christ will rise from the dead; his body is called a tent.
All these scriptural witnesses establish, then, that the Christ who according to the flesh is to be of David’s race will be the Son of God; that after dying he will rise; that he will have the appearance of a human being, but also the power of God. He himself will judge the whole universe; he alone will accomplish justice and will be savior. (Rom 1:3-4; Acts 17:31)
