Errors: false Father, deny incarnation, reject Spirit
Hence no one should imagine that God the Father is other than our Creator, as the heretics invent. (Isa 44:24; Jn 1:3) They despise God who is, and make an idol of what is nothing; they forge a father above our Creator, fancying they have found someone greater than the truth. All such are impious and blaspheme their creator and Father, as we showed in the Exposure and overthrow of knowledge falsely so called.
Others disdain the coming of the Son of God and the economy of his incarnation, transmitted by the apostles and foretold by the prophets for humanity’s salvation, as we have briefly shown you. These too must be ranked among unbelievers. (1 Jn 4:2-3; 2 Jn 7)
Others do not receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit and push prophetic grace far from them; of them Isaiah said they shall be ‘like a terebinth that has shed its leaves, and like a garden without water’; and those are of no use to God, since they can bring no fruit. (Isa 1:30; 1 Thess 5:19-20)
