To Florus 2.114

Prove, then, that what the apostle Paul attributed to Christ’s grace is fulfilled in them: namely, that it produces justification from many offenses, bestowing righteousness through a single, once-for-all remission of many sins. Either show that infants are liable for many crimes, so as to persuade us that the feature in which the apostle placed his praise of Christ’s generosity applies to them too, and that they have been freed from many sins; or confess that Paul discussed neither infants nor human nature in these passages, since he testified that grace’s generosity forgives things which, even with your agreement, cannot be found in newborn children (compare Romans 5:16).
