Against Julian 5.15.52
Augustine reports that Julian argued that Christ’s flesh, born from Mary whose flesh descended from Adam like everyone else’s, cannot be distinguished from other human flesh in the interpretation of ‘the likeness of sinful flesh’ (Romans 8:3). Julian’s conclusion, as Augustine restates it, is that no flesh is sinful, so that Christ’s flesh will not be sinful either.
