Why do you not understand my speech?
“Why do you not understand my speech? Because you cannot hear my word.”
Speech and word differ: speech is ready to hand, the word deeper. Those who cannot contain the word do not even understand the speech.

Διὰ τί τὴν λαλιὰν τὴν ἐμὴν οὐ γινώσκετε; ὅτι οὐ δύνασθε ἀκούειν τὸν λόγον τὸν ἐμόν.
Διαφέρει λαλιὰ καὶ λόγος· ἡ μὲν λαλιὰ πρόχειρός ἐστιν, ὁ δὲ λόγος βαθύτερος· οἱ μὴ χωροῦντες τὸν λόγον οὐδὲ τὴν λαλιὰν νοοῦσιν.
