Firstfruits of crops and flocks to the priests§1
1The law orders firstfruits of all crops and flocks to be brought to the priests. What is given to priests is offered to God. No one may lawfully use the fruits until firstfruits are brought.

Primitias omnium frugum omniumque pecorum sacerdotibus lex iubet offerri. Quod sacerdotibus datur, Deo offertur. Nemo licite fructibus utatur nisi prius Deo primitiae deferantur.
Letter and spirit of offering§2
2Disciples of the new covenant do well to keep this law in due measure; some commands of the letter are kept with the Spirit. Alms and gifts for the poor honor Christ’s priesthood.

Prayer as firstfruits to the true High Priest§3
3Whoever with a pure mind pours out prayers and thanksgivings has, through the angel of the altar, offered the firstfruits of his sacrifice to the great High Priest, Christ Jesus, to whom be glory forever. Amen.
