On Adoration and Worship in Spirit and Truth, Book 11 · §20

Leftover not for tomorrow; future sanctification; seven days at tent door

Cyril: …remainder, the law not allowing to eat also unto the tomorrow; for of sanctification, I think, some other manner will be for us according to the coming age being worked spiritually, no longer bodily, and according to which word God who rearranges all things knows, and transferring wherever he should wish. And some not unintelligent mind will follow the words; for with the corruption in us having been loosed after at least living-again perhaps from dead ones, the things through which one might be able to run-through it are somehow not necessary. So then another manner of sanctification fitting the condition of the season will be thought out, with Christ being present with us. And having said what has come unto mind, we will yield to those who think the better things. And perhaps some such thing the all-divine Paul hints saying: ‘And when the perfect should come, the from-part will be abolished,’ (Exodus 29:34–35) instead of, will have an end and will stand.

Palladius: It seems so.

Cyril: So then these things he said must be finished through unto the perfection of the sacred ones. And with the priests of Israel having been raised-together, and… and of testimony you will not go out seven days, until a day should be fulfilled, a day of your perfection. For seven days he will perfect your hands, just as he did on this day, on which Lord commanded to do, so as to propitiate concerning you, and upon the door of the tent of the testimony you will sit seven days. And day and night keep the keepings of Lord, that you may not die; for thus Lord God commanded me.’ (1 Corinthians 13:10) (Leviticus 8:33–35) (Leviticus 8:33)
