Inside/out pure; two calves = Christ; laying-on of hands before people
Cyril: …works, and may glorify your Father the in the heavens.’ So then it is necessary for those truly holy and sacred to be, from within and from without purely carrying around the putting-to-death of Jesus in their own body, and having been composed with him somehow through the holy baptism.
Palladius: You have spoken well.
Cyril: And he said a sacrifice for them must be brought forward in two calves, both perfect and yearling—that is, both soft and new; and perfect is the unto whole-burnt-offering, with fine flour soaked with oil being incense-burned-together with it; and the other at least, for sin is burned outside the camp; for thus the victims for sin are perfected. And again in both is Christ, in a calf at least the unto whole-burning, wholly holy, and unto a smell of fragrance for us to God and Father bringing for the saints the thankful and cheerful of the life in hope; for oil-soaked fine flour was being brought up together with the calf; and it will follow somehow altogether those who have honored the life in Christ… peoples vote for those being called of Christ, voicing very well that they would be worthy; and this in Churches, just as indeed also the ancients, beside the sacred and divine tent, were doing the hand-layings upon the Levites. So then clear that if neither in a church, nor indeed upon a people a hand-appointment should come to be, it will be beside the divine will, and outside sacred laws. And with the Levites having been perfected, they take hold of all the things unto sacred-work (Matthew 5:16) (Numbers 8:8–12) (Numbers 8:10) (Acts 6:6).
