Num 15 drink-offerings scale with victim; flour=life oil=cheer
Cyril: …payment; and nothing less for us, what I said, also himself the through Moses will under-show law. For he said again in the Numbers: ‘And Lord said toward Moses, saying: Speak to the sons of Israel, and you will say toward them: Whenever you should enter unto the land of your dwelling, which I give for you, and you should make whole-burnt-offerings for Lord, a whole-fruit-offering or a sacrifice, to magnify a vow or according to willing, or in your feasts to make a smell of sweet-fragrance for the Lord, if on the one hand from the oxen or from the sheep; also the one bringing-forward will bring-forward his gift for Lord a sacrifice of fine-flour a tenth of the ephah having been worked-up in oil in a fourth of the hin, and wine unto a drink-offering the fourth of the hin you will make upon the whole-burnt-offering, or upon the sacrifice; for the lamb the one you will make so much, a fruit-offering, a smell of sweet-fragrance for the Lord; and for the ram, whenever you should make him unto a whole-burnt-offering or unto a sacrifice, you will make a sacrifice of fine-flour two tenths having been worked-up in oil the third of the hin; and wine unto a drink-offering the third’ (Numbers 15:1-7)
Palladius: Then where ever equal-sharing and analogous, as you say, what ever someone should work, would we look-down?
Cyril: For do you not understand, O friend, of the law saying clearly, that if someone should choose to fulfill vows and whole-burnt-offerings, if on the one hand he should sacrifice-down a lamb, a tenth on the one hand of the ephah of fine-flour, and of wine and of oil the fourth of the hin (and measures I think these according to a tongue Hebrew) let him bring-on-beside for the incense; and if a ram it should be, he says, in a more-abundance the following, that is, the third; for of a third in lesser things, the as in a fourth measure. And of a calf being brought-up, fine-flour and the rest of the third again beyond, and in a half thereafter.
Cyril: I learned; what then this at least?
Cyril: And you know somewhere altogether, that of life on the one hand a type, the from wheats fine-flour, and of cheerfulness the oil; for
