James: every good gift; submit to God; Peter greeting and blood sprinkling
Then who will say Emmanuel is not true God, when blessed Paul speaks of him as “our great God and Savior Jesus Christ”?
From the catholic letters — James — that Christ is God: “Do not be deceived, my beloved brothers. Every good gift and every perfect present is from above, coming down from the Father of lights.” Every gift is good; and the good gift is the Holy Spirit, and the power to work the signs of God in him. So if Christ grants the Spirit to the saints, and also the power to work wonders, how would Christ not be true God?
“Submit therefore to God; resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” Clearly here he said we must submit to God. But Christ says: “Take my yoke upon you.” So when those who take his yoke are not submitting to someone other than God, how would he not be God?
From Peter’s letter: “Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the elect sojourners of the Dispersion in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: grace to you and peace be multiplied.”
