Beginning and first
For he could have said: "This month is for you the beginning of months and of the year," or: "This month is first of the year for you." But as if there were some distinction, he says that the month is both a beginning and first.

[Ἐδ]ύνατ[ο γὰρ εἰ]ρ[η]κέναι· "Ὁ [μ]ὴν οὗ[τος] ὑμῖν ἀρχὴ μηνῶν κ[αὶ το]ῦ ἐνιαυτοῦ ἐστι[ν]", ἤ· "Ὁ μὴν [οὗτος] πρῶτος τοῦ ἐνιαυτοῦ ἐστιν ὑμῖν", ἀλλ' ὡς διαστολῆς τινος οὔσης λέγει καὶ ἀρχὴν τὸν μῆνα καὶ πρῶτον αὐτὸν εἶναι.
