And if from the meats of the sacrifice of the perfection and of the breads should be left until morning, you will burn the remaining things with fire. It will not be eaten; for it is a holy-thing.’

Palladius: How deep the matter of the legal commands.

Cyril: Deep indeed very much; for you have spoken uprightly; yet not altogether unclear, with the divine light of the holy Spirit flashing in us. And come then again, as possible, let us say the things upon each. In countless manners our Lord Jesus Christ sanctifies us, and finishes us sacred and well-acceptable. For through him and in him we have had the approach, and we are not unwanted to God and Father. And most needful and necessary unto salvation for us under corruption and sin are both… which also would be unto a type of the virtues unto the inward and unto mind, in which is the fragrant spiritually, yet not according to one manner, since indeed many are the inwards, fat and kidneys, and the lobe of the liver. And the remaining of the body is burned, outside the camp. For outside the gate Christ has suffered; and Paul writes thus.
