Matthew 15:4–6
Though God commands that parents be honored and has hung danger over those who transgress, you command the children not to honor their parents — unless perhaps the children should wish to do this from ambition — but if they ask you for something, to say to them: “Whatever you take from me, know that you are stripping this from God; for I promised to give it as a sacrifice.” God must indeed be preferred to parents; yet <I say> one must also require that honor toward parents be kept. For they ought not, by seeming to pretext gift-bringing to God, to wrong their own parents.

Εἰ καὶ εἶπεν ὁ κύριος, ὅτι πονηροὶ ὄντες οὐ δύνανται μὴ πονηρὰ λαλεῖν, οὐχ ὡς φύσει ὄν των αὐτῶν πονηρῶν τοῦτο εἶπεν, ἀλλ' ὡς ἐκ πολλῆς τῆς ἀνοίας κατα κρατηθέντων ὑπὸ τοῦ κακοῦ. Εἰ δὲ καὶ εἶπεν ὁ κύριος, ὅτι πονηροὶ ὄντες οὐ δύνανται ἀγα θὰ λαλεῖν, οὐχ ὡς φύσει ὄντων πονηρῶν τοῦτο εἶπεν, ἀλλ' ἐξ αὐτῶν προαιρετοῦ κινήματος.
