Loins girded
Since then Scripture bears witness that the loin is used of intercourse, we come onto a path of considering what it wants concerning the Passover: that we eat with loins girded according to families. We are commanded, when we chew the Passover, to become clean from bodily coming-together — the girding of the loin signifying this. It teaches us to bind round the seed-place and commands us to stop up the motions of mixing, when we partake of the flesh of Christ.

Μαρτυρούσης οὖν τῆς γραφῆς τὴν ὀσφὺν ἐπὶ συνουσίας κεῖσθαι εἰς ὁδὸν ἐρχόμεθα τοῦ κατανοεῖν <τί> περὶ τὸ πάσχα περ[ι]εζωμένους ἡμᾶς τὰς ὀσφύας θέλει ἐσθίειν κατὰ συγγενείας. Κελευόμεθα, ὅτε τρώγομεν|| τὸ πάσχα, <καθαροὶ γενέσθαι> ἀπὸ συνελεύσεως σωματικῆς, τῆς περιζώσεως τῆς ὀσφύος τοῦτο σημαινούσης, ὥ[ς] περικαταδῆσαι ἡμᾶς τὸν σπερματικὸν τόπον διδάσκει κ[α]ὶ ἐμφράξαι τὰ τῆς μίξεως κινήματα κελεύει, ὅτε τῶν σαρκῶν μεταλαμβάνομεν [το]ῦ X(ριστο)ῦ.
