On Pascha · §2.22

The clothing of those at the meal

For he has given back [...] being held by ignorance to the bounds according to them — some by fate, some by chance, some by the rule of the ruler — because of the rearing toward him in a time of infancy, as they were reared, having forgotten the mother according to nature and the true Father who said: "Seeing I have seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt, and I have heard their cry and I have come down to deliver them from the taskmasters and to deliver them from the slavery of Pharaoh and from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them into the land of the fathers, which I swore to Abraham and to Isaac and to Jacob to give them as an inheritance,"
