Matthew 28:16–17
You see how some of the evangelists run past certain things. For “they doubted” is clearly unfolded in John, where the one who doubted is shown — and he was Thomas. So mentioning the appearance in Judea that happened second also shows how the matter stood. But he said that he appeared to them in Galilee — which alone John seems to me to omit, since it lay before him to say the rest: how often he appeared, and where, and indeed how, narrating clearly.

Οὐχ ὡς ὄντος τινὸς ἢ ἀγαθοῦ ἢ φαύλου τυχὸν τοῖς οὔπω γενο μένοις ἔξω αἰσθήσεως οὖσιν (ἔτι κομιδῇ εὔηθες τὸ οὕτω νοεῖν), ἀλλ' ὅτι τοῖς μέλλουσιν ἀθλιότητος ἁπάσης εἴσω πεσεῖν, εἰ πρὸς τὸ εἶναι ἐμπαρενεχθεῖεν ὑπὸ θεοῦ, πολὺ δήπου καὶ ἀσυγκρίτως ἀμείνων ἡ ἀνυπαρξία.
